Help for our Hall Paint Colour Dilemma
Comments (1)I'm no expert but I think I would paint the walls stiffkey right up to the cornice to avoid that striped look (ie painting over the picture rail). Then do the cornice, ceiling and all woodwork (skirtings, door frames and doors) in Cornforth or blackened. Painting the doors in stiffkey (and therefore the door frames and skirtings too) is a real statement and I'm sure it would be very dramatic. It just depends on your style. Either way it's a beautiful hallway and will look great. Good luck with it!...See MoreHelp choosing paint colour/s for hallway and landing space
Comments (14)Hi, I'm currently going through the same issue, Trying to find the right combo of paints to paint the hallway. I am looking to panel the part beneath the dado to prevent the ever so frustrating scuffing which occurs at sharp corners and am unsure on the colour combo. I was considering grey and white too but I'm scared that it may make the space feel too cold and dull especially as the only light will be through the door which won't be much. What colour combo's would you recommend to make the space feel luxurious and modern, yet not too clinical and cold?? I'd like the paint to be dulux preferably. what is the quality of Valspar paint like, I've seen it at DIY stores but don't know if it reaches standard of dulux? any reviews?? thanks...See MoreNeed help choosing paint colour for church hall
Comments (3)Hello appydaysdevon, With artificial lighting I would suggest going with some warm tones. Also dense and chalky is my preference. Little Greene is often a suggestion with a range of many lovely colours including a grey palette, but I would stay with blue considering the carpet.... Team with something like Whitening which is a lovely chalky warm white. Should you decide to take a look at that one. I have used Dulux in the classics range.. Here Bone China might have been a nice choice if you want to stick with D for above the panelling.. Given you have a mid to dark blue carpet which will be fitted... It would be a nice idea to continue on this theme. Go a shade darker or keep to the same shade re the carpet. I'm intrigued by what is above the false ceiling... :))...See MoreHelp with paint colour in dark hall
Comments (30)It's a really lovely hall. Loving Carolina's suggestions. Also, do the doors have a threshold that you could temporarily remove and look under (then put back) to see the floor underneath (if you see what I mean)? That way you could find out fairly quickly if you had tiles or wood. @ E D - unfortunately they may do a good product but a web site that comes across as a dodgy spam site doesn't make anyone want to find out. :(...See MoreJudyG Designs
