what rug for this space?
Comments (4)Hi Aimee, I have a few suggestions for you. With your wooden floor you have the liberty of opting for a high pile shaggy rug to add more warmth and texture to your room or a clean low pile rug, potentially a viscose rug or a flat weave cotton rug (the latter not as warm to perch the feet on but looks good). You can get away with round or rectangle. As a rule of thumb though, if rectangle shape, aim to match similar length dimension of rug to the length of your sofa. It's a cleaner look and more symmetrical. In terms of width, big enough that it extends close to mounted TV stand. Personally I think you should opt for rectangle shape. The colour of your painted walls and feature wall are beautiful, so perhaps aim to find a rug with a similar shade to pick up that colour that tie the design scheme together. I would also suggest placing a small coffee table over your rug too. Small enough that it doesn't obstruct the flow of foot traffic going through the room but spruces up this space nicely, and great for eating takeout in front of TV! Hope this helps!...See Morewhat table works in this space
Comments (17)Hi Lara, One of our Memphis Coffee tables would look amazing in your room - We also have a range of console tables that would work well, in particular this Flint console table. Check out our website for more details: www.tomfaulkner.co.uk...See MoreWhat shall we do with the space?!
Comments (15)I’d put in a low bookcase that runs all the way along the bottom. Then you can fill it with books/ plants / sculptures. And then some artwork for the walls. I’d throw in a hanging planter on one side, maybe a big plant in the corner too...See MoreExtension entrance - What to do with empty space ?
Comments (8)I agree with others about artwork and/or books. Slim bookshelves for small paperbacks or you could use picture ledges for either nice cookery books or other books to display front side forward or for actual pictures! Could also add interest with high level shelf and plants that cascade down. Also look at picture lights that can be mounted on walks above pics/shelves you can get battery powered ones if you don't want to hard wire into walls. Also a rug/runner will help cosy things up....See MoreWarner Decor
