Comments (2)Excellent article, as it all seems to be about colour at the moment. From the almost safety of greys came blues and now I think we are ready for so much more ... of course in the hands of experts it's always better. There is also colours coming from metals for example, handles and taps, which can also be used to compliment room colours. So much to look forward to ... Comments (16)Lovely kitchen. I'd definitely not have a colour on the walls now that i've seen it. Go for copper accessories they'll pick up on the lovely colour in the floor tile. Maybe combine the copper with a little green or blue...See MoreI’ve had my kitchen decorated this way for 3 years but it’s too dark
Comments (16)Your kitchen is gorgeous! Ours is similar in layout and darkness. We went with f&b Dimpse for the cabinets as it’s very light. I’d love a lighter worktop too but can’t justify replacing perfectly good granite. Likewise we have dark flooring (slate) - I’d love a parquet floor but again can’t justify scrapping something that is perfectly ok. We’ve painted our walls pure white and it’s fab. (And cheap). Photo not the best as it was taken at night - however the wall and cabinet colours have most definitely lightened up the whole room....See MoreFarrow & Ball Shaded White or Railings for repainting kitchen cabinets

The floor and worktop colours are the main surfaces that the sunlight hits and so are you keeping your existing flooring/tops or changing it. At the moment, it looks quite a dark, matt floor and so I would suggest keeping the units light to counteract this and bounce light around. However, if the floor/tops are going lighter or with more of a sheen (even carrying through the wood) the dark will look great. Good Luck Emily...See Morerolam1
