what is the brand/model of the surround?

What brand and model is this shower/tub unit? Is it a multi-piece surround or a single piece? I am looking for a multi-piece one and this has a nice look and I love the corner shelves.

Thanks! I'll have to look for a similar model with the same corner shelves. That one is a bit pricey for what I'm looking for. It is cool-looking though.

Depending on how far you budget goes, I would look at adding traditional cornice and pelmet and replacing the plinth with a similar oyster colour. End panels for wall units could also be replaced / added. Some chessboard style tilling in 3 colours would also bring out the walls. It's hard to tell but is the oak surround also on the wall units? I haven't checked your location but this is something we can help with

In our experience, the most critical point of a ducted extractor is the ducting arrangement rather than the extractor itself. For greatest effectiveness, avoid ribbed, flexible ducting, which is easy and cheap to fit but impedes air flow, make the runs as simple as possible and use the largest diameter rigid ducting that is feasible. Recirculating chimney hoods that are not ducted but just clean the air and return it into the room can work reasonably (though rarely as well as properly ducted ones) and may be seen as more ecological since heat is not lost, but they do little to remove steam and grease filters need to be cleaned or replaced often. Building regulations require all kitchens to have extractors (to avoid condensation), so sometimes we install an extractor fan in addition to a recirculating chimney hood, making sure the extractor isn't near the cooker to short-circuit the fumes and grease, since extract fans (unlike extractor hoods) don't normally have filters. Manufacturers' websites give acoustical information, and generally the bigger the cooker hood and the stronger the motor the more efficient it will be.

Hi Nicky, my apologies I have only just seen your message. We went for cornforth white Farrow and Ball (which it definitely not white). The shutters are not back open yet but some of them will need to go back on because the large expanses of grey look very grey. The bits next to the white look less austere. The new white garage door with windows has made a big difference. I'd be careful with a very pale grey because if your windows are anything like mine you'll find that they are not actually that white after all....

Absolutely that's why when I make a trip to the UK I make sure I've decided what colours I'm going to use and purchase there. Unfortunately I'm dithering on the colour of the shutters as my driveway at the moment has awful grey gravel which I will change to a creamy colour so it makes the front of the house look quite drab.
