Need advice for my hall & stairs! Please :)
Comments (21)A vertical column radiator would indeed be a good option, and I like the anthracite idea. Alternatively, if you could find a traditional tall victorian radiator (may not be easy to source) and finish it in a bronze/verdigris, it could work really well with your dark mint and would be a real statement! Your staircase is lovely, and I would go with a contemporary striped runner, white painted sides and a simple rod....See MoreHelp with the finishing touches to my hall / stairs
Comments (2)Hi Adam, I think you've done a great job so far! I agree the frames at the top of the stairs don't go with the other great arrangement on the left. Why not try moving the mirror to that wall to bounce the light around a bit? Where the mirror was why not look for a piece of artwork. Something long that can be hung vertically to fill that space? Alternatively you could but a small occasional table or console table to fill that space and to put flowers on etc? Good luck, I think it looks great....See MoreIdeas please - hallway, stairs and landing
Comments (9)Hi Laura, we’ve found that stairways are often overlooked, despite the fact that in many homes it’s the first thing people see when they walk in the door. Halls, stairs and landings are high traffic areas and need hard wearing, practical carpets with a good pile weight and density that maintain their appearance. It’s worth spending time and effort on this area to create an enticing entrance. Have you considered letting a simple striped carpet take centre stage? Our Avebury collection made from 100% pure new wool comes in either a neat, level loop pile or a textured loop pile and offers four tonal striped designs and eight plain, stylish shades that can be teamed together to work in the hall and up the stairs. Keep the décor classic with a light striped carpet teamed with soft neutral walls for a timeless feel. https://www.cormarcarpets.co.uk/product_avebury/product_avebury.php...See MoreAny ideas welcome in hall stairs and landing!!
Comments (9)You've got a great space to work with there, lovely hallway with nice light, a vista through to the back and a lovely traditional staircase. If you like the style I would say it just needs a new stair runner and a lick of paint. Have a look at Roger Oates wool stair runners - these are all the rage for this kind of setting at the moment, some gorgeous colours available. Then maybe you could coordinate with some artwork you like to go on the walls and choose a neutral wall paint that works with the colours. You could go all white with the stair bannister, but maybe not if it already works with your colour scheme. Then think about how you could "style up" the view to the back of the house. Another thing to consider is lighting accessories to create a nice welcoming ambience at night. Hope this helps :)...See MoreNaomi Sullivan
