Need helping picking a kitchen worktop
Comments (9)Hi, in my opinion, you need for the top a darker, neutral tone to add some contrast with the big amount of white of the doors. You can even go for bit of texture on this top, as it is a good opportunity to warm up the kitchen, very cold at present. There is a wide variety of worktops available at Egger, 38 mm thickness. From them I would suggest Red Brown Leon Slate or Brown Malawi ( with wood grain texture), for a nice, warm but darker top.Valetta Sand or Isodora Beige, might be a second option, too, if you don't like contrasts. Another interesting option would be a texture similar to Corten Steel or Cooper Or, if you feel adventurous and want an element of surprise, you can always try a top on real reclaimed or distressed wood. It will be definitely more difficult to be managed, but it will bring the whole kitchen to life. Good Luck , Georgia Cristea Interiors...See MoreI need opinions on Caesar stone counter colours.
Comments (3)Hi there, From experience the closest to Quartz composites which look like Carrara Marble are Quartzforms Veined Michelangelo, or Unistone Bianco Carrara. We don't deal with Caeserstone too much here anymore (no reason, just so many options available we tend to pick our favourties!) but from a look through our samples Caeserstone London Grey has the look of the marble, although a little more grey overall. We would also advise strongly against putting marble in a kitchen, it is too porous and for such a large amount of money it can be damaged so easily. Generally the Quartz manufacturers are very good at imitating other stones, it won't look like a fake marble, just one that can take a bit more heavy use than marble can! Good luck!...See Morequartz worktop Join
Comments (37)Hello again! I have now had the new worktop fitted and I’m really pleased with it :). It looks how I thought it should and the join is where my hob will be fitted (hopefully this afternoon) so not noticeable at all. The seam looks more obvious in the photo than it does on the eye but in all honestly it’s fab! Thank you all for your comments and advice, appreciated x...See Morekitchen planning advice!
Comments (11)I'm not a fan of so many barstools. Would you use them for family meals because in that case your dining table will be wasted. I would only have them on the long side of the island. This would also not necessitate some people with their backs to the garden. Good planning with the wine rack next to the fridge. A pity more people (or kitchen designers) don't think of this. I like your layout despite the fridge freezer walk. I have lived with it in the utility for many years, you adapt. I would maybe consider a slim shelf above the cooker between the windows. You have good clearances all around. Consider a different work surface on the island to the rest of the kitchen cabinets....See MoreUser
