Comments (1)I think it is a personal preference, it is not necessary to have them if you would prefer nothing at all, it mainly comes down to whether you want them or not, some people do not like the thought of people looking into their home, are you in a built up area? From a design point of view blinds are a great opportunity to add colour and drama to a room even if they are rolled three quoters of the way up most of the time but again it is a personal choice. Comments (9)Hi Hilary, Why not consider motorised blinds? They are not as expensive as they used to be and now you even get wireless battery operated ones and even solar powered ones which have a 5 year battery life. I considered them for my parents house a while back and the only reason I didn't go ahead was because of other renovation work which is still due. Some come with dawn to dusk timers and can be controlled via your phone even while your away....See MoreLidia
