You can go as traditional or bold as you like, you can introduce some colour or a pattern such as a stripe, 'dot' or even go wild with a zebra print? Check out our collection of runners at our website, or alternatively design your own bespoke one using our online 'Make me a rug' designer. Have fun and be creative! http://www.alternativeflooring.com/collection/runners...See MoreAre cage lights in the entrance hall too much?
Comments (2)I think the black and white scheme looks really striking against the tile floor. Is it particularly the cage lights that are trendy at them moment that you like or is it the industrial trend generally that you'd like to incorporate? Maybe there's something with a more 1930's industrial feel that would sit well against the period features? Or alternately just go for it but the more modern the better if wanting to juxtapose old and new. Nothing to subtle - big and bold cage style light could work. You could have one made up with 1930's style Bakelite fittings with a gorgeous coloured cord to pick up the red in the tiles. There are many companies that supply these fittings or you might find something suitable on Etsy. Good luck with your project :-)...See MoreI need ideas for the living room and entrance hall
Comments (4)Wow, what a big space! What is great here is that you have lots of room to play with. It really depends on what style you are going for. However here are some ideas! For the entrance way, a lovely console table would be a wonderful addition against the opposite wall to the door. Something reflective to help keep the place looking bright! This could be decorated with some accents like some bright flowers that really pop against the neutral wall. Maybe a little tray to put your keys and purse in as well! Can't see the space behind the door however maybe a statement coat hanger? Or it could even be placed in the left corner, near the double doors. For the living room space, I would keep the white chesterfield sofa and build around that. A white gloss coffee table would be great as it would reflect the light helping to keep the room bright and light, and easy to clean! https://omnari.com/shop/furniture/tables/coffee-tables/white-gloss-coffee-tables/ A wall mounted TV would look amazing against the marble wall, however if you prefer - maybe some art? For this I would pick out some statement art that incorporates hints of the general colour scheme. Also, a cabinet for storage! Hope this helps you and good luck with your design adventure!...See MoreHelp! Small entrance hall ideas
Comments (37)Guys, I need more advice! 😕 I had planned on using wall panelling on the right hand side of my stairs, but I have pulled off a piece of wood that ran the length of the stairs and it's a bit of a mess underneath. I'm now thinking the normal batten style panelling is out of the question as I'm not going to get a straight wall once I've tarted up what's underneath where the wood was. Anybody got any ideas on how I can design this part of the stairs now? I believe the wood was placed there to cover where a previous handrail had been. It's quite low down tho, so must have been placed there by a fairly small person! I like the idea of tongue and groove panelling to basically cover the detritus that's been left, but I've no idea how to work out the angle to cut it to the correct size all the way up the stairs. So thinking of maybe just replacing the wood that was there with a fresh piece, maybe with a dado on top. Oh I don't know, help! Plans have been kiboshed! 🙈...See Moredaynuhlee
