Grout cleaner

Hi, can anyone recommend a really good grout cleaner ? The original colour would be a light cream colour :) thanks in advance

Hi elleyaw - we would recommend using something like Lithofin Wexa. You dilute it in water depending on how dirty the grout is - start of quite diluted and then add more if you think it needs it. We would then recommend sealing the grout with something like Lithofin Stain Stop to prevent it from getting too grubby again in the future. It is best, if you can, to paint this on with a small brush so you can make sure it gets a good covering on the grout. This is what we would recommend to our customers. Hope it helps!

I mixed some baking soda and bleach and painted it on and left it overnight, it worked ok-ish but you can pick up grout cleaner for the same cost as the home made recipes and it works well!

Well the most effective way is to use brick acid, quite powerful or patio cleaner, usually a bit more gentle: as soon you will pour some down you will notice bubbles, its the acid 'eating' the dirt, leave for few minutes and use a wet spunge to dilute the acid and remove it. Don't use too often could eat away the grout, and also keep you window open and use some gloves! Let me know how you get on. ciao

So technical dept is closed but the woman spoke to her managing director (would have liked to have spoken to them direct but hey ho) and said to use a limescale remover like ‘limelight’ Leave it on overnight and it should remove it. I asked about a specific grout remover like rocatex one I found online which is a grout and cement remover but she didn’t know anything. Also couldn’t find out about how the tray is made and what thickness the top coating is so will try the limescale thing today and call them again tomorrow when technical is back in if it doesn’t work!

Ideally it should have been treated before installation. Might be worth having a word with a bathroom/plumbing supply company to see if they have a product.
