Scatter cushion conundrum!!!
Comments (28)I like various things from the picture below, I like the side table and lamp. The pattern cushions are good, they draw the colour from the curtains and the bird cushion is good also but I would put the bird cushion in the bend of the sofa and the floral cushions at each end. The paler cushions I would take a dye to them a deeper blue and maybe another contrast colour (you could make smaller cushion covers from the large blue cushion that you already have if you are handy at sewing) therefore picking out the blue and another colour from your art work. The deep blue throw over the foot stool looks good that way, show the fringe and maybe put it more centrally in the room. TKMax or such shops have reasonably priced lovely large coloured ornaments or vases which could be featured on the window sill or a larger plant, even a fake one, less hassle, again can be found in places like TKMax. Plus make the curtains fuller by drawing them slightly more to the centre of the window, not completely as you don't want to block the lovely daylight and use curtain tie backs (contrast colour, elaborate, simple whatever suits your taste modern, traditional). Using some of these ideas could also help to pull the room together to give a more welcoming appearance. Check pininterest for ideas also. Hope some of this helps, all the best and enjoy your tweaking....See MoreHelp - cushion fabric combinations!
Comments (4)I think I'd mix geometric patterns in the same colours- stripes, Ikat, checks, not floral patterns. You could pick out the pale yellow in the curtain fabric, plus the duck- egg blue, then add a very pale coral I think I would go for pastel colours....See MoreAccessorising dilemma !!!
Comments (53)Thanks everyone esp Carolins and Minnie for all their continued advice. I have the Mongolian cushion ordered! and a few samples of the material I posted being sent to check it out first . I am going to remember what you gave said about texture when it comes to the cushions and ornaments. Going to stop overthinking the cushion problem and just make a decision! :-) I'll post again when I have made further progress . Many thanks again ....See MorePlease help with cushions and throws for my king size bed!!
Comments (6)Hi Katie, I have attached an image that I think would help you lots (the first one). This is what I would go for to add some depth and contrast to the space. I would also go with similar for the bedside lamps.. having this dark element will really help lift the look. If you wanted to keep it lighter for personal style then maybe try (image two) a silvery look with different textures and patterns in silver, I would match this with silver or glass lamps with white shades. I hope it helps. Gina...See Moretavolla
