Want to make shelves look attractive
Comments (4)Get the measurement of the little shelf spaces, then source some baskets/boxes that will sit on the shelves and hold all the items! You could go for wicker baskets, wooden boxes, fabric-covered boxes, whatever you fancy. Look in discount stores as they often have a good selection. Are you very attached to the abstract painting on the wall? It makes the shelves look even more cluttered than they are. If you are keeping it, then I'd suggest swapping the curtains for something plain in one of the paler colours from the wall....See MoreWhat would you do too make this front garden more attractive
Comments (9)The red robin's have gotten a little big and now block the windows. Does anything else flower wise come up at other times of year? It's only looking straggly due to the daff and tulip stalks, they'll need chopping off soon, and you would presume something else would come up to take it's place. It's difficult to have a perennial garden in a small space as you can't pack enough plants that come up at different times of year, however, it's not impossible. You could have a change and go for slabs and pots, easier to maintain, but don't forget that they'll need water every day in the summer. Do you like gardening? If you do, stay with perennials but plant with different level plants to give interest, and make sure you've got something there righ throught the growing season, plus some evergreen's for winter. If you don't like gardening, go for the pots. Acers, Hydrangeas and Hostas all do well in pots, but get big pots or barrells....See MoreHow to make a shallow bungalow look more attractive!?
Comments (11)For me there are several things that reduce the curb appeal. I would build a garage at the side which will make the property wider and improve its presence. I would also change the roof to a steeper pitch- although this has a cost implication this is might not be as much as you think plus it would be in keeping with your neighbours and increase the extension possibilities and therefore resale value. The drive is poor quality so could be resurfaced- I like resin drives. The front door could do with more presence- perhaps a gable over the door would signpost it better. As far as the frontage- I would change the window proportions- put in deeper period style windows and render over the brick...See MoreHow can I make my garden wall more attractive and less oppressive?
Comments (27)Yes you could put mirror in front. It might be a bit disconcerting to catch sight of yourself when you look out? Clematis montana is great when is in flower but doesnt do much for the reast of the year, it can get huge and after a few years the stems will be very woody and not very attractive, so I would suggest planting it a way away from the wall so it doesnt take over. Could you post close up pics of the plants above the wall and the planting area?...See MoreHU-231413337
