Need help finding curtains that will compliment my sofa.
Comments (4)Do you want a pattern on the curtains or not? Your colour scheme reminds me of a very famous Mexican architect Ricardo Legoretta who put together reds oranges pinks and purples in a hotel that he was commissioned to design called Camino Real in Mexico DF in the 60s whre I once stayed - it was so weird - unless I had been in that room I would never have imagined huge splashes of these colours together would work - but it looked great - so how about going for red or red fading into pink (how it does on sillk) in quite a heavy warm material - btw LOVE the cushions !...See MoreHow to draw everything in together and also want to lift the room
Comments (13)I'm not sure I understand what is is that you want (probably just me)! Do you feel the whole room is too dark and want to repaint it or do you want to add more colour or something else? If the room is not naturally light then no other curtains will lighten it. Saturated colour can lift a poorly lit room in that it can add interest and make things cosy but not lighter. The warm mustard/yellow cushion catches my eye, that is the colour I would be going for if anything. It's a lovely room....See MoreHow to dress this window? What kind of curtains? Pole? Fabric?
Comments (7)I think long curtains would be lovely. What an elegant room. A metal rail would be good, forget about those ghastly plastic ones that eventually break. I had a simple white metal rail fitted in my bay window. I actually bought it in a high quality curtain shop and they fitted it for me. Cost £200 for rail, fitting and open/close cords - rail is 12’ long. There are a huge array of fabrics on the market but I love a linen mix, hangs beautifully. You could go plain in a colour similar to your walls, or a pattern. It depends what else is in the room as to how patterned you go! Do you like florals, or geometric? Comments (8)Thanks! I know how your sister feels Sonia! I thought I’d pre-thought about most things and had ideas and like I’d been planning it for a year before we actually got plans drawn up! And then they throw questions at you, you hadn’t considered! Will have a proper look at those colours you’ve suggested once I’m on my laptop! It’s so exciting tho Ellie right?? I love it! I’ve actually chosen most things I think, almost before the builders were here! Lol! Our kitchen got ordered this week so unfortunately due to a summer rush won’t be here till the 17th Oct Instead of the 2-3 week lead time there had been for months previously! I do love the green in the first pic - can’t find out what it is tho, does anyone know?? I think we’d get the same effect as the sun shines on that wall in the afternoon/evening (taken just now!) Also will have a delay for the floor as the concrete needs 75 days to dry out before they’ll put down the latex prior to the LVT! Doh! 1 day/mm!! Did not know that before! Ha! But overall we’ve been very lucky and haven’t really had many delays!...See Moreminnie101
