wow, thank you so much for all your great ideas!!! Unfortunately I cannot move the table centrally as it would block the way between the kitchen and the stairs/ doorways... I like the ideas of moving the pendant lights right above the table, installing a large mirror on the empty wall..I could actually move the sideboard there and add nice baskets for shoes next to the door . Also add a big painting above the table. Gonna give a few try to see what works! and agree the blind doesnt look good, it was just previously there. Thanks :)

Embzop is right. It's very likely you wouldn't have enough space to walk around a sofa towards the dining area. It will also close off the room, make it look smaller, I think. For the layouts I used the dimensions of this sofa. There's also a 150 cm wide 2-seater version available. Not saying that you have to buy these, but just to give you an idea of the dimensions of the furniture I've used. https://www.dunelm.com/product/rupert-3-seater-velvet-sofa-1000113347 Here's a layout with the 3 and 2-seater. Replaced the cabinet under the TV with a console table, so you have enough space to walk into the room. This will however give you no storage space at all. If you see furniture you like, measure carefully and cut out paper or put tape on the floor where you're thinking of putting the items in your room. It will give you a good idea of how much space the items will take up. In the shop something will look much smaller than it will look in your room.

All I can say is wow to Carolina! Thank you so much for the inspiration and renderings. While a Crittal door may be out of our budget for now, I really love the way you’ve zoned it. My partner and I are now going through both options and thinking through which option gives us more opportunities for storage. The garden is north facing and has a much nicer view than the other end so my gut is telling me to go with the sofa area there. I would love to reconnect and show you the final outcome, and to credit you for the help you have us! For E D above, we sadly will be getting rid of the mirror and glass. It’s proven to be a hazard and smashed on one occasion. We will be replacing with something similar to this:
