Comments (19)This is lovely sized room with loads of potential! We have just redecorated our living room and I would suggest the following in order of priority: Remove picture rails (this is really fun with a big hammer and wedge!) Skim walls (most likely will be necessary after above) Skim ceiling (you won't regret doing this) Paint walls with brilliant white undercoat Change curtain rail or paint white Paint all woodwork with white gloss paint Paint or ideally hang a new white door and paint frame white Rip up carpet (do you know if it's floorboards underneath?) Sand floorboards and varnish Once these steps are done, I would recommend living in the room for a bit before making any further decisions. It will help with choice of colours and leave breathing room financially. Although, I would highly recommend a Flokati rug, they make a a room look lovely a snug!...See Morewall colour inspiration please
Comments (3)Hi, do you mean a wall colour? I see very little wall space in your picture. Is it for another wall?...See MoreHall inspiration please
Comments (5)Look at your front door, wow! Everything you have suggested sounds great. Your current wooden floor looks lovely, but if you want a change then why not? As to the wall colours I can see pale grey or taupe on those walls, and for the stairs. I think you could leave the hand rail part natural and just paint the rest in a grey or taupe or white. A nice wall colour would be F&B Ammonite and it would look lovely with a darker shade on the staircase such as Downpipe. If you prefer a softer warmer look then Skimming Stone or the darker Elephants Breath would look good. You can keep the woodwork white if you want to keep it fresh. Dark hallways are very popular at the moment, so that’s another avenue and I’m sure others will advise. Here’s some ideas, I’ve also included Pigeon as I think it looks amazing (last pic)....See MoreInspiration please! Downstairs toilet
Comments (27)Hi Minnie thanks for your advice & lovely comments. I had that thought about putting it on the shelf but worried that the water splash’s might ruin the shelf. I opted for wall mounting it in the end. Hope it looks okay, I’m pleased with it & the wall colour definitely lifts the room. Happy bank holiday weekend!...See MoreMairead Moloney
