Help with interior please
Comments (12)White damask with teal background can't be called plain. Follow your instincts because you will live there with all pattern and colours. Get what you recon as "it is me". Home design is all about you and not fashion. To make place cozy you need to add accessories, little details with textures - they only calls small things but they make enormous effect on finished look. Curtains should complement your colour scheme, style, mood, atmosphere. Curtains is only one part of interior and you should judge plain or boring interior after you place final accessories and say that you finished. There are so many beautiful inspiring ideas but choose one and stay focused, then you will have elegant interior, which will reflect your taste in things. Hope it will help and good luck! :)...See MoreHow to decorate our bedroom??
Comments (6)Hello laine_bedford, Congratulations on moving into your new home! Definitely an exciting time for you and your family, and understandably a difficult task to start your re-decoration process. Here are some pointers: STEP 1: Get Inspired! - Create your own ideabook: - On the Houzz search bar, lookup 'Bedroom' and 'Hotel Room' and filter by your preferred design style; contemporary perhaps? - Please visit our page and check out our ideabook titled 'Creative Headboards'. STEP 2: Select Your Color Scheme! - Base Colour: Most 5 Star Resorts stick to neutral/earth tone colours, choosing to add splashes of colour through use of accessories (bed cushions, artwork, bed throw etc). However, main furniture (bed, bedside tables, table lamps, wardrobes and so forth) remain neutral and either all the same colour or similar. Same applies to the walls; neutral/earth tones. - Accent Colour: As recommended above, have fun choosing a colour(s) that you've been inspired by for your bedroom accessories. This can also apply to your feature wall (where the bed headboard would go). STEP 3: Set You Budget! - Once you know how much you're willing to spend, only then can you make interior decoration decisions (type of headboard/extent of headboard, type of wardrobes, customised built-in-seating in the bay windows, curtains vs. blinds, carpet or wood flooring with rug(s) etc). STEP 4: Source Your FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Fittings) - Make a list of all the things you would need to purchase, prioritising the main pieces (bed, wardrobes etc) and, dependent on your budget, the stores you would need to visit. - Don't forget the bed linen; if you really want the contemporary 'hotel' look, stick to whites. Hope the above helps to get you started. We would be delighted to help you further so please do not hesitate to contact us....See MoreHas grey gone out of fashion?
Comments (10)There is no sense when it comes to neutral colours being related to trends, as most neutral colours will have their place in any interior depending on the situation and aspect. Greys with a tinge of colour will always be here to stay and have been around for years. Battleship grey walls in North facing rooms is a recipe for disaster. Interesting how warm saturated colours are becoming popular again....See MoreInteriors Predictions for 2019
Comments (9)Texture still seems to be huge whether that be artisan products or not. I'm a huge fan of textured walls, having decided on tadelakt for our ensuite now I'm designing/costing it in earnest I have just found out it's not going to be suitable so am now trying (and failing) to find details on resin :( Agree that darker woods appear to be making a comeback and definitely the 70's (not a look I will be wearing!) Dirtier colours also seem to be popular. I think I first read terracotta was making a comeback in 2017, which I love both as a colour and material, although I'm still waiting for it to hit the shops, as I've seen very little! Agree with you on the Dutch art! With a few exceptions, I'm not keen on the fringing that has hit us, chairs in particular....See MoreModish Living
