What should I choose Handless or with handle in an open plan kitchen?
Comments (5)Hi There is true handleless and then there is a door with a 'J' groove at the top. The J groove door is pretty awful as the paint finish in the groove is always quite rough and opening an integrated fridge or dishwasher is more than awkward. A true handleless system with a channel fixed to the carcass is way better, much easier to use and you can pretty much choose any door material you like. Typically you only get the J groove door system from English kitchen manufacturers and the fixed channel system from German made kitchens. Comments (5)I do feel that sometimes, that a lot of "designers" attached to/associated with retailers don't necessarily listen and understand the needs or wants of the buyer, but are more about just fitting their product in the space - often irrespective if it's the best use of that space or the most pragmatic solution. I often think that if more people were to be brave enough to grasp the nettle and design their own kitchens (apologies to OnePlan!), those poor designers may up their game....See Morehelp!!! What floor tiles do we choose for our kitchen????
Comments (8)I agree with your friend that travertine will be a nightmare to keep clean - too many nooks and crannies for dirt to nestle into! I love porcelain tiles, they are tough and so easy to clean, quick hoover and a mop. I have them in a dark grey slate look a like In my kitchen. They come in so many forms from wood effect through to all the stone effect finishes. Worth going to a good tile store and have a good look around. Bring the door with you so you can colour match. i think any of the F&B beige neutrals will look good on the walls. I particularly Purbeck Stone and Skimming Stone. I’m not sure if grey is right with the cashmere doors, you need something warmer perhaps?...See MoreKitchen Flooring - what to choose?
Comments (12)We've installed Karndean for a few clients. The last one the client already had their dining and lounge fitted years before but wanted to carry that through to the new extension/kitchen. After it was all fitted, you couldn't tell the difference between the old and the new. There's some images that show a little of the floor on the home page of our website (crusty bread pic) and 2nd image on the furniture page, if you'd like a look. Obviously they will do many other designs for all tastes. click on the link www.dualdesigns.co.uk Hope that helps :))...See MoreBec
