Sloping ceiling in our tiny bathroom
Comments (11)I think that one of the problems with this small bathroom is that it's broken into many elements, making the space appear even smaller. The slope is very sculptural but spoiled by the style of window. Would you consider replacing the window with a full pane of glass in a casement or awning style opening? I'd also recommend either removing the tongue and groove boarding and skimming the wall or replacing the boards with T & G that extend from the floor to the ceiling. I'd remove the tiles and replace with T & G as well. Also, to unify the space, remove the ceiling tiles, which look like polystyrene, and the coving to simplify the overall appearance. A paler tint of the blue-green and a simpler window film in a foggy texture will allow more light to enter the room....See MoreFull height kitchen units, but sloping ceiling dilemma
Comments (8)Thanks Ellie! We just started living in it again last weekend so I’m still figuring out where everything goes... outer units are soft grey, and island is pale navy, from Burbidge. I’ll be honest, the island could have taken the stronger shade of old navy, but we are delighted with it. Here’s a night-time pic with a bit of teething mess... it’s panoramic so you can see the whole thing from left to right. Good luck!...See Moreflat or half sloping ceiling on extension?
Comments (15)The problem - if we end up with this stupid large nib by the alcove is that it kind of dictates the edge of the living room unless we do something clever with it ie build off a bookcase or drinks unit to the left of it to visually extend the lounge) and then run the roof from that. I’ve taken some pics as it is now because you can see visually how much it slopes on the blockwork as it’s not yet boarded. So we could run it flat to just before the rooflight and then slope it down which will visually make the lounge area look wider than it is - or we do it from the nib....See MoreTall kitchen units of different heights on one run, sloping ceiling?
Comments (2)In addition to your other post (https://www.houzz.co.uk/discussions/5762468/built-in-oven-and-hob-type-recommendations-also-island-length-for-hon#24431315) here's my idea. Ignore the roofline as much as possible. Place the boiler in a cabinet with a height that ends where the upper cabinets start. Tall cabinets with fridge freezer and oven are against the other wall, together with a 'coffee niche'. Cabinet with washing machine the same height as the boilet cabinet, assuming you don't have a dryer....See MoreCarolina
