Lighting Components

Hi,
I have a three story house with a stairwell which winds all the way up both floors with a drop from the top of the house to the bottom. I want to make a stair light which is suspended at the very top and has different clusters of lights on the way down but can't find anywhere that supply the component parts. I'm ok with the cable and transformers (if required), but lamp holders, small glass shades/balls, a nice large ceiling rose that I can suspend multiple cables from....where do I get these?
I am an electrical engineer and have access to full workshop facilities so nothing to worry about from a safety perspective!
I'm in the UK too.
Any help would be really appreciated.
