Lights above book shelves

Hi, can anyone advise me what sort of lights I should put above these shelves? When we fitted them the electrician put in wiring and a switch so we could fit lights but I have no idea what to buy! Any help very welcome?

Clip on spotlights so you can choose which areas to light up? Also if you had a solid panel across the top you could use spots to angle down. I used Jim Lawrence's Curtis lights on my formal bookcases.

Hi , A simple option that we use quite a lot is to fit a timber pelmet and install deck-lights . They can be wired in or simply plugged in a socket . The hardest part is drilling a hole for the lights to go through.

Hi, It looks like you already have a dark wood feature mirror in that room so have you thought about having matching shelves in the same colour? Chunky floating ones would look nice to hold towels on etc. If you wanted to go even further, then you could have the wall built out so that the shelving was recessed into the wall with little lights above each shelf - but of course it's a lot more work & money!

I wanted a bookcase that would fill the gap between the chimney breast and window , which is 230 cm in height and 150 cm wide. The bookcase will be used mostly for books as we are trying to create two spaces as the living is open plan with this side being a reading area and the other will have a fireplace and the TV ( see picture attached) We have exposed the metal columns to create modern industrial but elegant look. Does anyone have advise on the sofa/armchair layout for this space ?

Would love advice. We recently bought a new development condo and at the moment we don’t have shelves to display stuff/books. initially I was planning on hanging the TV above the ventless fireplace and doing a built-in like the picture however my neighbor just said he is having issues with his TV above the fireplace bc it gets too hot so now I am concerned and wondering if we are better off keeping the TV where it is, getting a bigger painting to hang above the TV(current one is just a joke and way too small) and doing floating shelves to the right that are longer since I think doing a built in on only one side would look silly. Would love peoples thoughts and advice. How can we make the TV work about the fireplace?

Alcove wall lights above/below picture rail?

It seems to me the space above the picture rail should be clear of fittings or any decor for that matter. I'm also having a hard time picturing wall lights and alcove shelving on the same wall. Just because they are there now doesn't mean they should stay. Some lights on an extending arm could look nice, depending on your style. Or flush LED lights if you want to light the shelves. Much depends on the design of the shelving.
