Need help for living room ideas
Comments (4)Hi Nilam, Congratulations on your new home! Your sofas look great- they’ll work really well against the warm tones in your floorboards. As you’ve got a lot of warm browns within the space, opting for a cool grey colour scheme could be too much of a contrast for your room. However, choosing a wallpaper that pairs cool greys with warmer tones can be a great way to tie the two pallets together. One of our favourites is this beautiful grey and yellow floral wallpaper by Black Edition. This offers the grey palette that you hoped for, and the yellow flowers will work beautifully with the wooden tones already in your lounge. http://goo.gl/BBHG4F For the remaining walls, we would suggest continuing the grey tones from the wallpaper with Dulux Mineral Haze 2. If you’ve got a busy household with little ones using the space, we would suggest using an Endurance+ Matt finish on the walls. This is 20x tougher than standard matt and fully wipeable and its special formula has been designed to stand up against heavy wear. To complete the look, carry the yellow from your wallpaper throughout the rest of your space through cushions and accessories. Alternatively, if flowers aren’t your thing, this geometric wallpaper by Osbourne and Little is also a great option for your space. Introducing flashes of warm golds against cool neutrals is a really easy way to tie the two palettes together. http://goo.gl/ssY0ts For the remaining walls, Dulux Grey Steel 3 would pick up on the cooler tones within your wallpaper. As before, we would suggest using an Endurance+ Matt finish for busy areas to keep your walls looking great for longer. Finally opt for sophisticated grey accessories and silver fittings to complete the look. For both palettes, we would recommend getting tester post of the suggested colours and samples of the wallpaper, to see how they will appear in your home and under different lighting. We hope you have fun decorating and we’d love to see your new room once you’ve completed it, so please send us some photos! Comments (12)Grey is a great base colour, I think your new palette looks lovely and that any one of these accent colours would look great not just on soft furnishings but perhaps look out for objects like a vase in that colour to put on the dining table? Have you thought about painting coffee table a bold grey colour? Have you tried rearranging the furniture? It's hard to tell if there is space but you could move the dining table and chairs to left of door as you come in and put sofa in the L-shaped space left by table, in the corner. It would mean the sofa does not block the light coming in the room through the door. If you do keep the table where it is, perhaps move the mirror along to behind the table. It would catch light and brighten that corner too. Good luck!...See MoreI need ideas for the living room and entrance hall
Comments (4)Wow, what a big space! What is great here is that you have lots of room to play with. It really depends on what style you are going for. However here are some ideas! For the entrance way, a lovely console table would be a wonderful addition against the opposite wall to the door. Something reflective to help keep the place looking bright! This could be decorated with some accents like some bright flowers that really pop against the neutral wall. Maybe a little tray to put your keys and purse in as well! Can't see the space behind the door however maybe a statement coat hanger? Or it could even be placed in the left corner, near the double doors. For the living room space, I would keep the white chesterfield sofa and build around that. A white gloss coffee table would be great as it would reflect the light helping to keep the room bright and light, and easy to clean! https://omnari.com/shop/furniture/tables/coffee-tables/white-gloss-coffee-tables/ A wall mounted TV would look amazing against the marble wall, however if you prefer - maybe some art? For this I would pick out some statement art that incorporates hints of the general colour scheme. Also, a cabinet for storage! Hope this helps you and good luck with your design adventure!...See Moreliving room quandary - really need your ideas please
Comments (7)i think the wooden coffee table box in the bay looks absolutely wonderful and am so glad you are keeping the brown leather sofa - both give off warmth, more so than too much grey. A darker grey drape will work with the carpeting but that would be as far as i would go with the grey theme. Sprinkle some reflective surfaces around, eg one of those silver floor lamp that bend into the room (sorry , forgotten the technical name!) , or on the mantel? silver framed wall art on the dark wall? to add a little brightness to the room and i feel you would achieve a warm but stylish room.... Most of all, take your time! take a pic of things you like and use the 'see in my room feature' in the houzz toolbox of tricks to help visualise....See MoreCopper Dust
