Comments (47)Maybe curtains won't work after all if my bed is pushed up against the window! If I didn't choose curtains, what else could I put there? Curtains are so soft, glamorous & romantic. Blinds seem to be a bit boring and un-luxurious. I love interior shutters as well, but they cost a bomb! I was also thinking I could maybe add a canopy for my bed? Perhaps via a thin wire attached to my ceiling, if that makes sense? And only put the curtain/canopy along the bottom and right side of my bed... Then I could draw the canopy across at night to separate the sleeping space but I could leave the curtains/canopy open to let sunlight in via the windows. Would that look ok (esp. as the bed is against a window?) Any thoughts of what to use for my window? Thanks xxx...See MoreHow can we improve our bedroom
Comments (40)Hi, I suggest you move the mirrors up , at the level of the window because they are too low , with this you will create a hight of the room , the carpet it is a problem : 1: it keeps the dust in the house and 2: you can never have a clean room with it . I also suggest get some money put a wood floor and the radiator can be cut out , moved on the floor heating , then you can decide if you want or not to create a small place to sit at the window or the corner where your closet is a small table with a chair where you can rest and have also a make-up session . Move the curtains close to the level of the ceiling and try to find a fade coloured curtain that can create an accent in the room (just because you have a patter wall that does not mean everything in the house should have a patter as well) and i suggest a plant because it keeps the air clean even when you sleep . i can try to make you a design suggestion and see more of what i am writing you, but i will need some specific measurements of the room (height- distance from the wall to the window and to the corner and after to the door , i assume that is where the master-bedroom bath is . Kind regards, Andreea...See MoreUnbalanced, awkward window placement in rental flat
Comments (7)Would the bed fit the other way, at right angles to the window? You could then put the chest under the window to the right, and lean a full- length mirror against the wall to the left. This would balance out the uneven wall space, and also avoids hanging things on the wall ( I note your landlord won't allow this.) However, I think it's a bit unreasonable of him not to let you hang curtains for privacy, so if he relents I would have white or cream drapes. You could add warm colours like coral, warm yellow or dusky pink, with throws and cushions, which would be calmer and more restful than primary colours, and would go well with the existing flooring and your black and white rug....See MoreBedside tables
Comments (4)Hi. Try untothislast website. They're based in London and they make all their furniture out of plywood. Not sure what your budget is but I think they're really reasonable. We bought our dining room table from them and it's great. Look at the bedside cabinets - or if you have a really tight budget you could just put up short shelves as tables which could look good and they are really reasonable. They are made bespoke so you can request a specific size too. Hope this helps!...See MoreGroundswell Design Group Inc.
