Hello all;

I'm looking at Maisons du Monde (France) website and I see lots of things that I would like to buy from them (bed, chest of drawers, accessories). I was wondering if anyone can give me their feedback if ever tried ordering from them? I'm a bit hesitant.

No personal experience but I always check Trust Pilot when using a new website/company to purchase something...

I’ve used them for Christmas decorations - ordered 1st December - card charged 3rd December - arrived 5th January !

Hi, love what you've done so far, lovely restful colour. I think it just needs accessories now. I'd go for white or ivory things to balance the the existing colour. Some great suggestions already, crisp white bedding, mirror, more lighting, texture.... I was thinking a dressing table on the blank wall and maybe an occasional chair in the corner by the window. Nice large piece of artwork between the wardrobes, smaller artwork above the bed, maybe a soft shaggy rug as well. Also some roman blinds that sit outside of the recess, even if you don't use them I think it will help to dress the windows better. Some inspiration pics: dressing table- Sweet pea and Willow. Art from Westelm, chair-Madison's du monde, and blind from Dunelm.

Hi Kate Home-Roberts, It will probably be the last thing that goes into the project but maybe one of the most important, wood flooring could be a perfect addition to the project? If you're trying to keep to the original classic farmhouse look or if you wanted to go completely the opposite direction we have options for all. Hey! I've just seen the last comments. I live in Spain and there doesn't seem to be as much choice over here as there is in the USA after browsing at lot.. the Gubi light does look similar to one of the Tom Dixon beats shapes and I like the oriental vibe they give.. I am leaning toward that style for the pendants and will probably end up going with one. As for the splashback.. it's a nightmare.. I really have no idea.. I think dark like black and I think it will look to much and take away from the accents.. I think of grey and I think it's too boring and monocromatic.. I think of colour and I get scared lol.. really don't know and to be honest... I do regret going all white in the kitchen and not going with something darker or mid tone on the lowers at the back to ground it a bit more. I see so many kitchens on Instagram and Pinterest and I am always drawn to the darker ones.. but as I have a darker floor, I thought it would be too much. Anyway, it's done now and I guess we all have things we would do differently. I could always relacquer the lower doors quite cheaply if it came to it I guess. I really love Hague Blue by farrow and ball and have always wanted to use it but I think it wouldn't fit in anywhere and I'm not brave enough anyway🙈 Some good news is that I have finally managed to get the stonemason to change the island worktop which he destroyed after cleaning it with paint thinner.. after 4 months of fighting and the carpenter also finished up all the last details this week.. after 5 months. Stonemason has offered to give me a big discount on the splashback if I put a slab on the wall but really have no idea.. options are Dekton, Silestone, Neolith and Compac colours. By the way.. just saw this flat on pinterest and it reminded me of mine a bit but well done and with a more interesting kitchen.. trying to get some inspiration from it: https://hot-walls.ru/portfolio/сердце-столицы-99/ My favourite designs seem to all be Russian for some reason.. 😅

I’ve used them twice. First order was quite big - desk, bedside cabinet, headboard, bed end, mirror, hooks, chair and a unit for my laundry. Customer services in France called to arrange delivery date and the products were driven by two very nice French men to my house. Some sign language and schoolgirl French needed to direct the delivery to the right rooms but they took large items upstairs with no complaint. My second order contained smaller items so went through the postal system. The package got damaged and a small item had fallen out. Again customer services were very good and sent a replacement. They are a reputable company with many branches in Europe. They are also now have small items in 3 Debenhams stores in the UK.

If you have no problems with your order then you will probably be alright but if you need to contact their customer service for whatever reason it is a mission! They really make sure to keep the customers at bay. I had to chase their delivery company for my order to find out that they broke it in transit and they will have ask for a replacement. I wanted to follow up with Maisons du Monde to find out if their delivery company had been in touch but it was not an easy task as there is no customer service email and my calls were disconnected after I listened to all the automated information notes. I finally got through and asked for a replacement. Would the delivery company sort it out if I did not prompt - I don't know.

I had a terrible experience ordering from them. Sadly I can't recommend which is a shame because they have nice items. Take a look at reviews on Trustpilot. I always check now before I order from any website after getting burned.
