Any ideas for window covering on this long window along the stairs
Comments (25)Hi Am following this thread with interest - I have windows like this throughout my house and am finding it really difficult to decide on suitable treatments. On the upside it means the house always looks light and airy! We currently have a series of temporary roller blinds downstairs which work pretty well, but in the bedrooms we have curtains - although they now cover the radiators so not keen as a long term solution. Would also like to have blackout in the two main bedrooms. Does anyone know if extra wide roman blinds are available anywhere? We'd like an unfussy look. Suggestions and pics most welcome. Thanks....See MoreOffice with no window
Comments (13)I like the idea to turn the desk but i assume there is another desk in the room? (You'd also have to check out exactly how well the frosted glass works or you'll need to sit in a very ladylike manner!). In addition to above, maybe some cheap Scandinavian wall art? It needn't be black and white, was just the first image I saw of art on shelves. I think/hope I'm right in saying the daylight bulbs work in any lamp?...See Morewhat to do with office wall
Comments (4)I think panelling is a really good idea! It would make a good feature. I also don't think the desk situation would ruin it either! It depends on your style, but this idea would look nice (I know neither image is a study but the panelling idea is cool): Especially if you added a plant and some wall lights. If you don't like darker, bolder colours, you could do the same thing but with a neutral - white, grey or oatmeal....See MoreDesign challenge: Fix for front door that opens directly onto stairs
Comments (11)I’m in a 1930s terrace, and my hall is tiny too! Yo made me chuckle with your acrobatics to enter your house......... All the houses in my road are the same on the outside, but configured slightly differently inside. My neighbours house has a much bigger hall leading to the kitchen, but it eats into their sitting room which is much smaller than mine. You could remove the wall into the kitchen, or move it further into the kitchen giving you a wider hall? Or as CWD suggests adding, maybe a porch to the front crating a bigger hall? A floor plan or pics will help envisage your problem....See MoreRene Pennino
