Large window at end of narrow hallway... roman blind or curtains?
Comments (25)You can get a wide enough kit. I’ve seen them up to 2.4 m wide, such as this one below. https://www.curtainsandblinds4homes.co.uk/Deluxe-Roman-Blinds-Kits-Cassette-1-1-Ratio-upto-6Kgs/Roman-blind-kit-cassette-240cms. I’ve recently finished one that’s 210 wide & it doesn’t sag in the middle at all so a bit wider should be ok. Just a pain to join the fabric for a wider blind. However, as the window is quite low, I wonder whether long curtains might provide a better finish. Agree that eyelet curtains wouldn’t create too much bulk & look nice stacked back at the side of the window. I found eyelet curtains much easier to make than Roman blinds!...See MoreNew flooring for narrow hallway
Comments (18)In reference to your comments Keiblem, a ‘parred down’ look will be more suited to the space with minimum investment due to the property going to market in a few years. However, my concern with tiles are that they can present a safety hazard, and particularly in a hall where you come in straight from outside when it has been raining, there is a potential to slip on the tiles and inevitably fall over. I would never suggest a rug either, as once again, can present a precarious situation! The dark wood I have suggested was based on a preference for a darker shade of flooring, and equally the herringbone pattern is still so on trend and is timeless; also it’s easy to clean and slip-proof. As there is also some warmth in this flooring, it presents a more welcoming space,as if it were just all grey, could look rather washed out and without character. Buyers buy with their emotions......See MoreNarrow hallway flooring
Comments (4)I’d be inclined to have any lines in your hallway go from left to right Your floor at the moment makes the eye go straight forward Your colours are great for bouncing light around A vertical mirror just as you walk in would give the room a feeling of space Small mosaic tiles would suit You could put your picture into some of the carpet websites and then change the flooring...See MoreNarrow hallway
Comments (0)Hi there, looking for some advice, we've about to embark on extension but worried our hallway will look narrow and tight when opening the front door down to the kitchen/ diner - (pls note layout won't be changing) - we've highlighted area for potential wardrobe/ cupobard space, which we need for coats and fridge/ freezer etc ... does anyone have any ideas how to make the flow from front door to new kitchen/ diner feel more open and flow better i.e. corner wardbrobe, clever lighting or curved area...any thoughts/ ideas would be great - thanks in advance...See Morembj0
