Comments (5)The geometry of the floor with the square diamond shapes could be reflected somehow in the room, maybe in the towels or blinds. Either that or pick up the lovely colour of tile edging. There doesn't seem to be a composed place for the toiletries maybe a shallow mirrored cabinet instead of the wood framed mirror, even painting the frame. There seems to be another cabinet reflected in the mirror. This may need a rethink. Comments (0)I had this roof re shingled by a handyman 5 years ago but did such a poor job I want to re shingle the whole house. I am dealing with a licensed contractor this time with a BBB is A plus. They are using Cambridge AR shingles so we need to pick a color and we think dual brown will go but what about what about other colours. Maybe driftwood? Comments (9)I agree with Red80 re furniture layout. There are lots of good things in this room, I just personally find the cushions and blinds clash with the chandelier and wallpaper. I would swap the 2 geometric cushions for softer patterns in lighter grey/white/duck egg. I'd get something with different textures as the cushions fabrics look the same atm? Add accessories to your coffee table, maybe just a pile of books, a vase of flowers, and an "ornament" in wood/ceramic/pewter etc again for texture. When budget allows swap the blinds for Roman blinds. Try blinds 2 go or Tuiss which is their sister company if you're in the UK. I can't remember the exact price but I got pure silk Roman blinds for 2 really large windows for c£450 which sounds a bargain to me although not yet up:) I agree the mirror is a little high. If you can, without leaving a hole on show in the wallpaper, I'd lower it as long as it doesn't reflect the tv! I'm not sure the pics to the left of the window work as they're obscured by the curtains. Perhaps also a taller vase/pot in the blue for the tv cabinet to detract from the tv a little more? Alternatively you could change the wallpaper and the mirror to give the room a contemporary rather than classical feel...See More

7 years agolast modified: 7 years agoI think you should go for a stripe or geometric rug. Heal's have AMAZING rugs. I think this rug (image attached) would be a nice contrast with the dark floor and would visually lift it. It's a pity you couldn't move one of the radiators, and put a nice vintage sideboard in there, with some amazing statement art above. I've attached images of my previous designs that include sideboards with art above - a very cool look! By the way, both of the rugs featured in my attached photos are from Heal's :)

7 years agoOh, and CreatePerfect made a great point about pulling your sofa away from the wall. What you could also do is place a table BEHIND the sofa, and place decorative accessories on it (including lighting etc.) it helps to break up the space and add height.
