Statement Curtains Wanted for living room
Comments (24)Hi Looking at all the ideas and colours that have been put forward as well as the furniture you have in place, of all the patterns i think either swaverelle/mill creek jungle jam or the waverly santa maria would sit the best in your room. It is a period property from the look of the windows so a contemporary twist on a traditonal fabric would work just fine. You can have a band of plain fabric at the leading and back edge in a complimentary fabric. Have some cushions made in the curtain fabric to tie it in. If you are keen on having blue which is very popular, look at Sandserson as they have some lovely blue fabrics in a range of blues and patterns that all work well together. Go to their website and search on Blues and a whole range of blue prints are available...See MoreWhat colour walls to go with red blinds in living room
Comments (22)Make the blinds disappear by painting the window wall the same red. Otherwise they will look a bit 'bitty'. You can also pick up the red with assessories and introduce other colours also with artwork. I think lots of cream or natural linen. IKEA do a lovely striped sofa which has a thin red stripes which would give it a French country feel. Sorry I don't like the brown leather sofa and after reading how leather is mass produced I am now having problems with any leather sofas :(...See MoreChoosing a living room colour
Comments (2)Hi Jessica Southworth I understand the dilemma!!! My own living room is north facing with one small window and a lot of space! I needed a paint that was going to be neutral enough to work with all of our "First time home" mismatched furniture without being too boring. I settled on a colour called "Snowfall" from Crown Paints. Unfortunately we don't sell Crown paints online yet but we hope that this might point you in the right direction (or it might confuse the issue even more!) Sometimes you just have to commit to a decision on wall colour and hope it turns out OK, worst comes to the worst you'll just have to repaint it. I hope this has been helpful! Kind Regards KB....See MoreColour inspiration for living room please
Comments (8)Hi there - I can't really be of any help with ideas I'm afraid but just wanted to say that we went for F&B green blue in our kitchen (shown in my kitchen post) and do find it a bit flat and oppressive. Another person commented that they had used Theresa's Green and felt the same. However, what I would also say is obviously the kitchen tends to be more of a 'clinical' environment than a living room, so with the warm lighting and right sofas/general addition of different textures I think you could make it a lovely, cosy room. Based on our current thoughts on it though I would definitely think about Minnie's suggestion of the wallpaper to break up the colour a bit, or the suggestion in one of the other posts about using a couple of colours split by the picture rail....See MoreFAIRFAX FLOORING
