Need some ideas for a very small office
Comments (10)Hello Mawlw, Yes storage in a small room can be tricky... If you have files and things... The last thing you want to do is have large pieces of furniture storing things... I would suggest putting a shelf all the way round the top of the wall but far enough from the ceiling height to allow for storing files etc... Paint the shelf white all the way around and even buy white files... Or boxes... that way you can store out of your eye view and still find what you need.. This free's up the space so you can make it appear bigger than it is... If the walls are not partition then you can add more weight just remember the raw plugs!!... Get really good brackets, Ikea do some lovely wooden ones No need to paint those.. I'd say 3 per shelf length of a m2 length & continue all round the walls to the window but not over unless there is the height above.... The other thing is that if you want a stylish office room. Get a good chair and you can get a table and shelf combo that leans up against the wall... See images... One of them is from Houzz! I love them both though... You get more floor space which in turn lends to a tranquil working environment... . : ))...See MoreNeed advice on updating external wall for an office space
Comments (2)I would not render or put any cladding up just spruce up what is there. I would paint the stone coins and window ledges so that they look pristine then unify the window frames by painting all the same colour. I would paint the lower ones white as I think white looks smarter against red brick. I would paint the wood door- again a lighter colour looks smart against red brick although this can soon look dirty in an urban area- perhaps a taupe/ grey would be forgiving. Lastly I would put expensive looking chrome door furniture on the entrance with a modern sign at eye level....See MoreNeed help with one 1 bed studio flat living room/ office space.
Comments (8)Thank you Thomas that's great - very efficient!! As the space has hard floors and walls it looks like your lacking in the soft furnishings side which is giving it the cold - office like - appearance which is sometimes a little uninviting. A rug will help soften the ground placed under a central coffee table. I would then consider adding some layers or textures and colour with a few cushions and some art on the wall above the sofa. Above the desk I would add a few short shelves which I would include a plant which soften interiors instantly and add life. This will also give you some great additional storage. I can also see two small ledges on either side of the room - this is perfect for some statement lighting with a strip of LED lights down either side. This will add wow factor and a contemporary statement. I hope this helps. Thank you, Gina...See MoreWhich wall would you mount the TV on?
Comments (27)Hi Lola, thanks for adding this comment. I'm highly inclined to agree with you but the thing that's annoying me is that right side wall with the clock on it. That's a solid brick wall. I love the idea of having that new fake wall built with sunk in niches/compartments on the left, top, bottom and TV in the middle. But the right side is going to look strange as there no symmetry with the left side AND I can't cut into the right side brick wall ....or....can I? I want the whole wall to be flush with niches but want that symmetry with top, bottom , right and left. Any ideas how I can achieve that? As I think out loud, I could ignore niches on the left as I can't do anything on the right and simply put niches on over and below the TV. This way you have symmetry on all 4 sides. So in summary: Above TV sunk in niched compartments Below TV sunk in niched compartments Left side of TV blank OR pictures hung on them? Right side of TV blank OR pictures hung on them? TV sunk in the middle. I'm not sure I like the blanked sides or hung pictures. With pictures you would have items protuding on the right/left sides whereas all other sides including the TV will be sunk in. Confusing on the eye? Any other ideas on how I might be able to combat this?...See MoreMoop
