Comments (22)If you wanted you could buy new deep lloyd loom style chairs..they come in all sorts of F&B colours. I wouldn't agonise too much about colour. obviously, you could go for the stone/taupe/ neutral colours but personally I would go for a soft purple/aubergine colour ( think natures colours) which would add the same depth of colour as your walls. Think a colour would mix the room up a bit. A cafe table looks gorgeous with flowers on which leaves room for a drink or magazine, & again, is a nod to the garden. magazines & books are hugely decorative & some say essential for a room. I use old books for the rooms I do & to add emphasis to the furniture I source. You can choose an interior magazine, monthly, with a cover that appeals to add seasonal change. Layer your room gradually , experiment & have fun. keep an eye out for the right lamps, shades & cushions & think big rather than twee. Oh! & essentials I didn't spot but could well be there are paintings & a mirror?!...See MoreSomething missing?
Comments (18)Hi Sarah, loved Minnie's suggestion of an oval mirror and here's a few vintage ones you might want to check out :) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Oval-Oak-Beaded-Detail-Wall-Hung-Bevel-Mirror-/141713360023?hash=item20fec64497 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-STYLE-FOLIAGE-OVAL-WALL-MIRROR-6477-/400976260115?hash=item5d5c0c2c13 I am really fond of this one and there is a product on the market called rub and buff and its applied really easily to almost any type of finish. If you were to go for a bronzy finish you could easily transform the look of it to tie in with the browns in your scheme. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shabby-Chic-French-Vintage-Metal-Ornate-Oval-Mirror-Bedroom-Hall-Bathroom-Gift-/181715456533?hash=item2a4f15d215...See MoreSomething missing in my lounge?
Comments (24)Some really lovely ideas!! I really love the idea of making the area around my TV more of a focal point with shelves etc. I do worry about my plaster breaking up around it though! I suppose if it started to crack I could help it on its way and have some exposed brick :) Think I might bite the bullet and have a go hanging some real pictures on the wall and see how it goes. My rug has grey/blue/gold hues so will go find some accessories in the mean time to start pulling the room together. Thank you all for taking the time and sharing your ideas, I am loving all the inspiration!...See MoreMirror, picture or something else?
Comments (28)Hi, I think remove the fish tank in the corner and put a tall decorative lighting structure there instead and different objects on the mantel piece, i.e., a tall leaning mirror, or a round mirror to balance? Also, off set the display as it is too uniform, i.e., one bit in the middle, one either side, one either side of them its all a bit too "centralised". Group individual items more to one end to help balance better! Hope you understand that sentence! Also (sorry) the height of the light next to the tv doesn't work for me either, it needs to be taller or much shorter than the tv, also, changing them around, i.e. lamp next to curtains, may work better too? I love the lamp, just not there!x Or, a cheaper option, choose a branch from out walking, a fairly substantial piece that you could put behind the fish tank and branch out over the fire place, paint it white, fix to wall and decorate with small fairy lights. Doing away with the candles in the centre and then display the deer to the left of the mantle as you look at it? All merely suggestions!x...See MoreUser
