Table color

If you painted can you explain the process or what products did you use? I have the exact same table and I'm planning to paint it soon looking for a dark chocolate color. Thanks!

Hi Nicky-

The table came in the black color, but I added a lacquer to the top to give it the glossy finish I like. I used a water-based product (so it wouldn't yellow over time) and gave it a few days to fully cure. The product was applied with a high quality bristle brush. Hope this helps!

I saw an amazing drawer desk that a fellow Houzzer painted earlier! I think you feel it looks too solid is because you haven’t followed through with the rest of the room, for example cushions to tie in with it. Further up these comments minnie101 has suggested some black patterned cushions which i think would lift the scheme, however if you really don’t like it then follow your heart and return it. Why keep something you don’t like? Then choose a colour-way that you prefer, such as the blue you suggested. A blue coastal theme would tie in nicely with the neutral theme you have at the moment. By the way, i got a Turkish rug from Olney Carpets in Bucks, and they let us take it home for a week to see if we liked it before buying! True service, and yes we did buy it! Of course buying online does give you that option too. I wish you lots of luck.

First of all, If you could show the brown couch as well, that would be really helpful, because it depends on what kind of brown it is, and also: what are the colours of the walls and any other furniture nearby? With the information on hand, we would recommend going for a natural finish - everything except the first photo could work, but once again it depends on the couch and the surroundings.
