Need help with matching curtains to brick effect wallpaper
Comments (1)As you have so much dark going on, I would try a cream or white curtain... also I assume you put brick wallpaper as a feature, therefore let the curtains be discreet so no pattern....See MoreHelp: fabrics to complement a wallpaper
Comments (11)Having looked at damask wallpapers in the photos on Houzz, on the whole if the curtains are a different colour to the wall then they are plain. If a different pattern is used in any soft furnishings then they are in the exact same colour as the wallpaper. I would think a stripe would go, as long as the background colour matches the wallpaper. However, it might be worth looking at some of the fabric and wallpaper designers websites or in a soft furnishings shop to see how they treat different patterns within the same colour collection. I suspect it will be to do with scale, ie put a small pattern against a big pattern. Another option is to use a sumptuous plain, such as a moiré and have a contrasting colour leading edge on the curtains which you then pick up in patterned cushions....See MoreWhich wallpaper with these sofas?
Comments (15)Thanks for your input @minnie101 I really wanted oak parquet with big rugs, we've had 14 years of amtico and rugs downstairs and hubby's desperate for more comfort. Due to so much needing doing next year we thought rather than installing beautiful parquet and then covering 80% with rugs we'd try carpet for this through room. I don't love the idea but it definitely saves ££££ for other things and we never use those French doors to the patio, we use another set, so don't need to worry about stepping onto carpet from outside, and I can still have my parquet in my new shaker kitchen. Is carpeting the full space a really bad idea? A large rug in sitting area and again under dining table section?...See MoreWhich colour wallpaper suits here?
Comments (8)I agree with Carolina, you appear to be going for a monotone look from that photo. You also appear to have some nice light coming through from the left as well so seeing that side of the room would be helpful. In addition, when taking photos of rooms and stuff to post on here, I have learnt from all the experts on here that it is best to remove all the things that won't be in the room when you have finished. So the red box, the black blanket (?) the laptop may all distract from you seeing what you could do with the room. Have you looked through Houzz to see accessories that would go in the room too? Building a style gallery would also help the posters see what you do and don't like and help them suggest alternatives. Personally I am leaning toward a plaster pink colour with some brass highlights to go with that sofa. Look forward to seeing more photos of the space!...See Moretwamleyk
