Houzz TV: Tips on How a Pro Can Help You Create Your Dream Home
In this episode of Houzz TV Live, architectural designer Joe Robertshaw of Place for Humans talks to Kiya Kelly of the Houzz communications team. Joe discusses how an architectural designer can help homeowners to think through a design project from start to finish to achieve the best results. He also offers advice on what to look for when searching for the right architect, how Houzz ideabooks can help to communicate your vision to a designer, and how to stay engaged throughout the process.
“It’s all about being creative and exploring and staying curious for long enough to understand all the options available to you, as well as being curious enough to actually understand the deeper reason behind [the project],” Joe says. “And don’t be afraid to be personal. Just think about what makes you comfortable. What’s going to be the best impact for you and your family. That’s what I’d suggest you strive for.”
Great advice and interview!!
I love how Robert breaks down the communication! So true, if you stay curious and your communication implies collaboration, you get the best out of the architect and their work. We had a long distance project & the emails/phone calls back and forth were full of discovery on both sides. It’s a delightful process with the right approach!
stunning vision, thanks!!!
Great advice! Thanks!
