We’ve teamed up with the Evening Standard’s Homes & Property section to launch The London Home Design Awards 2018, where we’re hoping to find the best of the best of home design in our nation’s capital.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a renter or a homeowner, have done a whole room makeover or a small decorating update, we want to recognise the hours, weeks and months you’ve spent planning your projects and inspire millions of others at the same time. Read on to see how to enter our competition and you never know, your space might come up top.

What Are We Looking For?
- City living. We’d love to see the imaginative and thoughtful ways you’ve maximised space in your small urban abode.
- Beautiful photos of your kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms and gardens.
- Rooms of all styles – contemporary, traditional, eclectic, we don’t mind.
- Innovative rooms and makeovers – show us what you’ve done to make the most of your space.
- Small and large-scale projects. We’re interested in seeing everything from whole-room overhauls to mini makeovers.
- Furnished spaces. We want to see how you’ve made it your own.
- High-resolution, clear, well-lit photos. Submit your decorating project in its best light.
- Your own room! Renter or homeowner, it has to be yours.

Meet the Judges
Our main panel of expert judges includes Victoria Harrison, Editor of Houzz UK, and Janice Morley, Editor of Homes & Property. Joining them are award-winning design writer Barbara Chandler, Dan Hopwood, former president of the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID), and Richard MacRae of architecture design studio EDRM.
We’ve also invited some very special guest judges to help us choose our category winners. Founder of The Balcony Gardener, Isabelle Palmer, will help us judge the garden category, and food writer and broadcaster, Rachel Khoo, will be here to help us pick a winning kitchen. Mr & Mrs Smith founder Tamara Lohan will be joining us for the bedroom category, and interior designers Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead from 2LG Studio for the bathroom category. Last but not least, design journalist Kate Watson-Smyth of Mad About the House will help us choose a winner of the living room category.
So what are you waiting for? Click here to enter. But before you go, scroll down to take a look at a couple more London schemes and meet our sponsors.

We’d love to see your city living projects. Perhaps you’ve also made the most of a teeny outdoor space like Beth Dadswell did in her home in West Dulwich.
Have you stamped your personality on a rented property like Terri Muncey has on her Shepherd’s Bush terraced flat? We’d love to see it.
It doesn’t have to be a major room overhaul, either, we’re just as interested in smaller decorating projects, like Rachel Christie’s north London fireplace makeover.
Finally, thank you to our sponsors!
