Living area
Like the photograph of books on wall
I bet the candles aren't lit.
Looks grown up.
That TV layout doesn't look too hideous from the front, it's just from the side... And I would miss having candles on the fireplace...
Love this house inc the floor: The downstairs floor is polished asphalt: “It’s a material that Dean had seen used in the Turner Contemporary project while he was at Chipperfield, ” explains Eleanor. “It has the feel of a black terrazzo, and its advantage over concrete is that it can be poured in a relatively thin, impermeable layer. (The asphalt is mixed with your choice of color and size of stone—we went for quite small gray granite—poured at a hot temperature and then polished and sealed.) It runs throughout the ground floor, which creates a sense of openness.” https://www.remodelista.com/posts/stylish-small-space-living-in-london-artful-historic-remodel/?utm_source=Small-Space%20DIY:%207%20Sawhorse%20Dining%20Tables%20for%20Impromptu%20Gatherings%20-%20Remodelista%20Daily%20-%2011/20/2018&utm_campaign=3aa60cd450&utm_medium=email
Note angle of TV screen
Table with bench and chairs
fireplace/TV set up looks a bit rubbish here.
Beautiful composition
Instead of the TV over the fire you have it in a dark alcove
Realistically this is probably about the amount of space we'll have in our living room bit. Flagged for seating options. Lighting the bookshelves helps make it feel a bit brighter
Nice picture/window/sofa layout
Jonathan's TV room ?
Tidy shelving

Like the log store
Chair layout?
Living area seating configuration? (though fewer bloody cushions)
Nice window seat & opening window (if a bit bulky)
? TV at the side?
So this is absolutely NOT the desired TV/fireplace look. AVOID.
Like the way the TV has been slightly built into the fireplace
General look. J likes outdoor green wall.
For discussion re furniture layout. & room division. Higher ceilings than we have.
Look is a bit overdone but interesting to see how they've done dining/social division
Where do you hang a hanging chair from? Is it really comfortable? Practical? Will the boys just use it as a bommy knocker?
Typical small stove (max output 5kw) for living room. J concerned room will get too hot so need to make sure heat flows into dining area (ie no deep air pockets at ceiling height).
Don't like the look but the principle of a storage bench built into the NE corner of the living room? J thinks it wouldn't work against the window but I think it would.

Quite liking this fireplace and general look for the living room.
Interesting folding internal screen doors - J likes stairs not doors
Knocked through room
Still not sure if I can face a TV above the fireplace?
? Not sure on crittal window style - J doesn't like
The owners laid grey floor tiles throughout the ground floor and painted the walls white. ‘White is flexible and inexpensive,’ says the owner. ‘We chose low-maintenance things in a mix of old and new. This is an easy home to live in.’ Read more at https://www.idealhome.co.uk/house-tours/modern-four-bed-farmhouse-in-devon-206528#PybK4STskWWV69VI.99
