I have a rule: never more than 1 item on a hangar! And I got rid of the wooden ones in favour of space saving skinny hangars for all but pants, skirts and jackets. Pants go on a dedicated pants hangar, skirts get clipped onto a skirt hangar and jackets keep their shape better on hangers that are slightly thicker at the shoulder.

I also have loads of rails attached on the inside of cupboard doors on which to hang scarves.

I’ve been caught by the ‘if you haven’t worn it for 6 months throw it out’ philosophy too many times! I was so glad recently not to’ve thrown away a favourite pair of trousers. I got them about 19 years ago at a charity shop and it’s time to start wearing them again!
