Don't get me wrong, I love Victorian terrace homes, but it would be really helpful if Houzz could feature 1930s terrace homes as much as the Victorian homes. I own a 1930s terrace in SE London, and have had a hard time finding articles and resources in order to reinstate its period features. Just saying...

Great article, My husband and I purchased our first home four years ago. It was built in 1936, it's a Victorian, although it's small and not as grand in architectural details as I would have wished for in a Victorian. Now I know which category of Victorian it really is.... It's a terrace Victorian. It's a work in progress, I want to add more mouldings, pot lights, inside and out. PAint the exterior and grout whitewash the brick so it's less uniform. I added a lot of black iron pieces in the garden and keep a perfectly manicured formal structure to the front garden. Planted a blue spruce topiary tree, and a with a mid century corner iron fence. We are in the midst of a kitchen Reno. Super modern slick kitchen. High gloss white cabinets. Painted Black semi gloss walls, all trimmed in thick white mouldings make it high contrast but still It's definitely in the 21 st century. An old wood and glass door that's just perfect. High end glass and sparkling modern lighting....love all aspects of design old and new. I love the high ceilings , wood mouldings and staircase. I love mixing modern design with revamped Victorian pieces like a Victorian sofa that I'm reupholstering and using for a dining room seat. Wish it was completed to post pics.... Lots of design projects to go before I get this home the way I want it, but when I do it's going be something real special. Incorporating the best of design throughout the ages, old and new done to perfection......
Lots of white and mirrors to bring in the light. Pops of bold colours and quirky fun things... Things that just make me happy to see everyday. Designing from a place of passion with a hunger for creating something original , not trends from other designers.
