What Design is to me
This entertainment room is on the main floor which I think is a neat style and allows it to be a lighter space during the day from the natural light and large windows. This room is spacey and would host many people. I also like how a television is not the main focus of entertainment which encourages people to socialize more.
Lastly, I think organisation and efficiency is an important factor to design. I find when everything has a place and things are neatly tucked away, I am able to feel the most calm and productive. It makes cleaning easy and things more accessibly. These shelves allow a lot of storage and organisation.
Although modern style tends to be a favorite of mine, I also like traditional style homes. I like the stone fireplace and how it incorporates my liking for multiple materials and textures. The large window at the front allows a lot of natural light into the space during the day. The large front porch is an attractive feature that gives a welcoming feel as well as the window in the roof that adds shape and interest to the home.
Similar to exterior styles, I like modern and dark colours in a home. I really like real wood and how it compliments dark metal. This look is definitely my favourite. I also like the open concept layout that makes the space feel big but the colours make it feel cozy. The open concept also allows the most light to travel through the house.
This exterior of a shop inspires me with it's interesting brick wall and how it contrasts the brown wood door area. The sign at the top is bold and eye catching along with the lit up sign. I would definitely feel artsy going into this store and would feel creative about what I see inside. The exterior of the store and how things are presented changes a lot about the outcome of how I would approach the items inside. For example, I would definitely be more inclines to buy something here than at home hardware or ikea.
This room is the most cluttered and busy on the scale but I still like it because of it's neat lighting. The small twinkly lights create a romantic atmosphere and could make a customer fall in love with what they are buying. The branches create a rustic style that is complimented by the unique pieces that are being sold here.
This room is very blue but the dark couches and touches of purple make the space feel like a spaceship; a neat style for a movie room. The twinkly lights on the left side looks like stars which add to the space feel. The semicircle floor carpet mimicks the shape of the ceiling which may not be obvious to the person inside, but adds symmetry. The brown cabinets in the bottom right corner provide a lot of storage for movies and tech.
