Having an exciting breakfast to have really helps me to get up in the morning! If you like coffee you could invest in a top quality coffee cabinet, another thing to look forward to that helps get you up earlier. I used to spend 15 mins in the morning doing my interior design course, it was such a peaceful time to do it, before my head got filled with stuff going on in the day :)

Also if your house tends to be cold (our 300yr old cottage definitely does), keep a robe near the bed to put on as soon as you get up, and put your clothes on the radiator the night before

"Treats and outings such as a coffee with a friend.....", as a full time working mother of three I laughed out loud. This may be for women who are luxuriating in their Houzz inspired homes.
I love Houzz and of course would love to implement the articles ideas but impractical for lots of us I suspect!

My husband is a lark and I'm definitely an owl, but I have got used to our 5am rising! I try to break down the housework and do one chore a day before the working day starts. It feels nice to have done the weekend's washing while everyone else is sleeping and then it isn't looming for you when you get home :-)
