Backyard 2017-18
Different style, but love this. Love the pueblo style, color of the wall, the gates, walkway and color of it, color of the flowers, lighting, and the use of the gates to invoke the style. I realize this isn't what our place is like, but take away wall and gates- still love it. I want one little southwest corner. I have rocks, a wagon wheel, and want to get an old mining cart or wood wagon. Like the plant selection, and the path/planter area that do not have a straight edge
Like stonework
Like the multi colored stones
Like the floor stones and little non squared edge plantings here and there.
Like the stonework. All of it.
Like the stonework hues in foreground but is too rough. Lighting is nice, maybe we wouldn't need this much.
Love the rock hues. Adding the lanterns is a nice touch and could work in to my SW corner theme. Like the rougher stones on the hot tub next to the smooth floor stones.
Like the rocks among the plants. But, we're a little concerned of having too much hardscape, giving it a cold harsh feeling. Prefer warmer hues than what is here.
Another example of fire pit that isn't too built up/structured that We like. We like the look plus we suspect that we may not want to dedicate too much permanent space for this use.
I like the variety textures and the colors used in the plant materials. Also the placement of the material, not structured/formal but not 'cottagie'/rambling either. I also like the vertical rock work. Also love the colors of the fireplace rocks.
Wow, really like this pool setting. I think this is my favorite pool deck because of the right mixture of warm and gray tones, and I like the surface finish. The rectangular pool doesn't look 'too square/structured' here which is something else I like. LT agrees. A warm, homey, inviting setting is my wish for the pool area and landscaping. Nothing harsh, too grayish, and I'm not fond of the look of many native plants. I like green foliage, rich plant blooms, and warm feeling stones, like what's in this pic.
Like purple and yellow flowers, and some grayish foliage. The stonework is nice, these steps would be nice for off the porch....if it stayed clean and didn't mold. We like the look of Flagstone, however, a friend has some and its ratty looking; black moldy areas on it. Manufactured stone could work as long as it doesn't look manufactured. Price comparison? Real vs manufactured thoughts and pros and cons?
A different porch floor/deck surface that we like. Not sure about slipping when wet or cost compared to other options. Thinking we could do this for the horizontal surfaces then incorporate stone in the vertical surfaces. Not sure the look goes with our house.
What I don't like is the white washed or gray look here. Maybe it's a bad photograph or the white house. Just showing one of the things we want to avoid especially since this is the main view from our house. Too cold and uninviting looking.
Rock walkway. Like the material. Our backyard isn't big and need to be sure to get pieces that aren't too big.
We like the overall look of this. The lighting, pool deck, vertical landscaping and planter border. Love the inviting color of the pool and greenery, although stones have too much of a rough, and dark color. We like more varied color in the stonework. Despite what I said, we do like the feeling of this backyard.
Like the stack stone, a more refined look
Like this walkway that is 'softer' for the walking surface around the SW side yard with raised beds and gate access to front yard. It needs to be wheel barrel friendly so I'm not sure this would work. Trip hazard???
Decking is another warmer tone decking option. Also like the river rock below the rain chain. Nice that the patio and step material blends in with backyard material. For our yard I think stones are too large.
Like the steps in this photo for our back porch that is 6'x27', and how patio material ties in with the steps and backyard.
Like the lavender plants (Russian lavender?) in the background. The decking is very nice looking but maybe too much straight angles if we're trying to soften the rectangular pool and too grayish. This setting is not warm and inviting.
Like the size, shape and pattern of the pool decking. Less gray and more tan/oranges would better. The stone wall is also nice.
Like this pool decking and the rocks near and around the pool and plants close by. Our thought is to have a rock or two by the steps to double as a railing for getting in and out of the pool.
Like the river rock for the fireplace. Not sure how we would use in this project though.
Like the simplicity of this fire pit; low height, less structured, like it could be a setting at a campsite. We aren't certain but we may want gas for the fire pit but more $$
Nice looking fence
Like the color of the stone floor but more varied colored stones and it would be better.
Like the shape, height and ledge on these planter beds. Want 2-3 of these on the SW side yard. I've also thought about using galvanized water troughs for a less expensive option
We like the stone color and texture. A smaller scaled fire ring, possibly with gas, would be great.
Our house. In backyard looking towards house
