What paint was used? I have a small wooden staircase that needs repainting but I would like a good hard wearing paint. The sanding and work for re-doing them is going to take a full day so I need recommendations for some tough floor paint.
We happen to live in a detached house, but were we in a semi or a terrace, I would not entertain the thought of uncarpeted treads. Especially if several people live in the property - clattering up and down. A nightmare for the neighbours. We have a smart modern striped carpet. The downside for me from not doing this, as mentioned by joyce520, would be the ease of slipping in socks. I'd also have been less happy after my recent hip suregery - stair carpets cushion your feet (and I like to go barefoot upstairs !
I was just using left over wood paint from our renovation. The brand is Little Greene.
