Here's a few client's wine storage, though obviously early days for getting the wine.
One pic shows a wine fridge within the island, along with storage above the fridge freezer. The other has subtle wine racks either side of a double larder (if you could see inside)
Stylish? Yes. But they're almost all in kitchens - about the worst place you could possibly store wine. And one of the pictures has the wines standing upright. Fine if they're just plonk, going to be drunk quickly and have a metal screw-top, but not if they have a real cork closure and are wines you vaguely value or want to lay down; the cork should be kept wet. The best storage for wine should be in a cool (not cold), and very importantly EVEN temperature lociton, not somewhere with wild fluctuations like you might get in a kitchen. Also, kitchens are usually too warm and drinking an overly warm red wine is not pleasant, though it happens far too often in what we used to call restaurants here in the UK.
I love these practical and ingenious solutions. This is about getting stuff off the floor, out of the way and making use of space. My bottles had to get off the floor too. I live in a Grade II listed cottage so every inch of space is squeezed out to be useful. Here’s my solution adding to my 12year old kitchen.
