This is a great flat, much whiter and more mid century modern than my style, but comfortable and lovely. I like everything (furniture wise) to be old and second hand, both for looks and to keep costs down. I only draw the line at bed/mattress and upholstered sofas and chairs for um hygiene reasons! But my thrift elsewhere means I was able to buy really nice hardwood frame sofas which should last a lifetime, and hopefully will be buying a similarly constructed ottoman bed for my new house.

I love a bit of yellow to brighten up a room. This is an attic conversion and my favourite part of the house.

vertue75 I've always had brightly coloured bedrooms, even one with all red walls some years ago and never had trouble sleeping. Once the lights are low for reading or out for sleeping it's all dark anyway so makes no difference. While awake I love the colours, they make me feel good, like being in a garden full of flowers. I've never understood why colours would keep people awake once the lights are out.
