Living in Toronto, it took us quite a while to figure out what we wanted in our backyard. The garden now looks like these in spring and summer. Is it a cottage garden? I think so. My elements are combination of tulips and forget-me-nots in spring, roses and hydrangeas in summer, and of course with grass.

I think you want robin-egg blue. I never heard of duck-egg blue.

Duck egg blue is common in the UK. It is generally more grey/blue than the turquoise robin egg colour.
