It’s one of the most timeless and enduring styles and the shabby chic look can be created in a number of different ways. Check out these inspiring ideas to turn your boudoir into a pretty haven that perfectly matches your style.
Add elegance with pastel shades
Shabby chic is a feminine look that lends itself to pastel shades, such as pink. Choose dusky hues rather than baby pinks, and team them with muted creams, whites and greys.
This beautiful bedroom uses just the right amount of pink and combines it with more contemporary elements, such as the chrome desk lamp and the typographic artwork. The overall effect is elegant, calm and sophisticated.

Include some decorative charm
The furniture and lighting in this gorgeous room creates an ornate, vintage feel. To get the look, hunt out modern versions of antique objects like the white chandelier and Venetian bedside table shown here. The bright blue accessories and flowers add a bold, more contemporary feel.

Be bold with black
Give your shabby chic look an edge by teaming pinks and yellows with black accents. This bedroom has plenty of pretty features, such as the ornate mirror and decorative cushions, but the black pendant light and other dark accessories add a fresh new element.

Brighten up with blues
The blue and green accessories look stunning in this white room. The owners have boldly introduced lots of the two colours, but it works beautifully. The collection of oil paintings and vintage elements give the space its shabby chic feel, but the unusual colour palette provides a unique twist.

Bring in natural woods
This sleep space is calm and relaxing, and the owners have introduced a shabby chic vibe using just a few elements. Recreate the look by browsing junk shops for a similar chest of drawers and add a simple embroidered cushion. The beauty of this room is its minimal colour scheme, which forms a versatile backdrop and allows just a few key pieces to take centre stage.

Create a cosy nook
In this dainty room the bed has been built into an awkward alcove. Pretty curtains enclose the little den, while interesting pieces of artwork and accessories give the space character. The mismatched furniture has been given a cohesive look by being painted in the same cream shade.

Choose a restful scheme
Embrace rustic features in a shabby chic style by opting for a colour scheme to match. The bare wooden elements of this bedroom are complemented by the neutral shades of the furniture and textiles. The pared-back palette allows the wood’s natural beauty to be the main feature.

Embrace the look for a kid’s room
Shabby chic is a great style to use in a child’s bedroom. It’s a fabulous way to introduce pretty elements with vintage furniture, floral patterns, patchwork and pastel shades. You can also have fun with the theme, as seen here with the cleverly placed picture frame.

Hunt for flea-market booty
The wonderful thing about the shabby chic look is how easy it is to create. By teaming some old wooden boxes and crates with a slightly worn cupboard and a metal-framed bed, this simple room has been given lots of character. The quilts add a warm, cosy touch.

This is my cozy bedroom
Shabby Chic...in our house it means old but sturdy furniture, some of which once belonged to my former mother-in-law, given to her as wedding gifts. Have I painted it...of course. This furniture went through living with 8 children, 3 girls and 5 boys (a set of twins to boot). Other furniture has come from my mother and grandmother. My husband and I love items with a story. I now sit at my desk and think of all the bills written, school notes signed, love letters sent...and now I am continuing the tradition. We also love linen bedding and down quilts. Pastels don't play much of a part in our home, however we use multiple shades of white and cream with lots of different textures. Red is also a large component in our decorating scheme.....not exactly "Shabby Chic." It all works well in our little cabin in the woods.
jalarse....your room is simply beautiful.....exceptional vibe going on!!
Quirkycabin, thank you for the lovely compliment.
