I've got a hip roof and the planners have just rejected my application to put this to gable as they think it will imbalance the adjoining semi. I'm rather miffed as both neighbours are fine with the plans, which have taken a year and thousands of pounds to perfect as every other possibility has been explored. It will be the first on the street to do this, but there are so many extensions and roof lines that I feel this is unfair, especially as the extension will allow me to have solar panels in the back, create energy efficiency in other ways (I.e. Insulation), make extra parking and develop this large unusable space in the house. Further, there is about to be a new housing development placed behind my house. I will contest it, so if anyone has any ideas that can help me to achieve this I would be grateful to hear.

Waterside Landscaping

These fantastic photos make it all look so easy. Having a good architect would certainly help a project like this be successful.
