Re dressing tables, I'm going for a low, wide mid-century bookcase against the chimney breast opposite the end of my bed. I'm going to change to a bed without a footboard, prop a full length mirror on the middle of the bookcase and sit on the end of the bed. My hairdryer and straighteners will be permanently plugged in and tucked under the bookcase. I currently have a small mirror on the top of a chest of drawers in the chimney breast alcove to the side but I'm so short sighted it's too far away to use with glasses off.
p.s. cassandrascott there's a ton of affordable spacious property in Tyneside, if your daughter doesn't go for a new build. Lovely spacious tyneside flats in Heaton, 3 bed semis in Fenham or Victorian terraces in Arthur's Hill or Gateshead. All available for well under 200k and some for less than 100.

Hi Sam, thank you. She's now agreed to settle for an older place that needs some renovation which will DElight her partner. Their new build that they'll be selling later this year will have gone down in value in fact! No investment in them whatsoever!

Mirrors facing you when asleep is not good Feng Shui... can give you nightmares for one thing... so I cover mine with a scarf (thick enough not to see through) to solve the problem!
