Wondering how you can help your non-integrated appliances blend seamlessly into your kitchen? Take a look at these stylish cookspaces to find out why you don’t always have to hide your oven, dishwasher and fridge behind closed doors.
Judge your appliance by its cover
If you’re going for freestanding kitchen appliances, make life easier by choosing smart designs. A sleek silver oven like this one would look gorgeous in any space, as would the attractive retro-style fridge. By choosing good-looking appliances, you’ll be able to fit them into your cookspace with the minimum of fuss.

Do without a baseboard
In this cosy kitchen, the units have prominent legs and a discreet base plinth set right back. This subtle design element gives the kitchen a freestanding feel, helping the cooker, dishwasher and fridge to look right at home.
With a flush baseboard beneath the cabinets, the appliances would have looked different to the rest of the space and might not have fitted in quite as well.

Opt for muted tones
Hoping to hide your freestanding appliances? The owners of this kitchen have helped their freestanding dishwasher blend in by choosing units in a complementary shade. The brushed steel front of the appliance tones right in with the blue-grey cabinets and tiles to create a harmonious look that doesn’t jar.

Match your appliances
When you’re including more than one non-integrated appliance in your kitchen, it’s a good idea to choose similar designs. Here, the oven and dishwasher are both silver, which helps the space feel uncluttered. A mix of silver and white, for example, might have felt too busy.

Whiten up
It could also pay to match your units to your appliances, especially when they’re bright white. While silver and black surfaces can feel quite sleek and elegant, white can often be too much of a contrast against another colour.

Make it monochrome
In this tiny cookspace, the white and black oven has become a feature in itself. Its slim design and almost retro look has been set off by a monochrome scheme in the rest of the room. A framework of black and white around the cooker emphasises its bold shape and quirky features.

Embrace the look
To help non-integrated appliances look good in your kitchen, try making them feel part of the overall design. Take this scheme, for example – the mix-and-match look of the space, with its shelving unit, utensil rail and knife rack, is the ideal style to go with the freestanding cooker and dishwasher.

Thanks for sharing interesting ideas. Kitchen appliances are the very important part of our daily life. Appliances not only useful but they also contribute to look of your kitchen. If something happens with domestic appliances can cause you a great trouble. But instead of replacing them, look for an immediate assistance. I've always liked that "Do without a baseboard" image :)
For me, it boiled down to cost (the appliances themselves and additional cabinetry) and easy maintenance.
