What Have Houzz Users Been Doing at Home During Lockdown?
We asked homeowners how they’ve been spending time at home and whether the pandemic affected their renovation plans
Were you about to embark on a home project before the country went into lockdown? How did the pandemic impact those plans, and has the extra time spent at home prompted you to rethink your space?
We asked Houzz users these and other questions in a recent survey to find out how everyone has been spending their time during this unprecedented pause in our lives.

Did lockdown force you to cancel your renovation project?
Almost half of the people we surveyed had a project planned at the beginning of the pandemic, but of those, only 2% have cancelled it completely. A determined 46% said they’d just put their job on hold, and 42% were able to continue with their renovation.
Half of those who cancelled or delayed their project said it wasn’t urgent and could wait until it was safe to continue. Availability of products and materials was another factor, with
34% saying they’d delayed or cancelled because they couldn’t obtain supplies, while 17% cited a lack of finances as the reason for putting the project on hold.
