Ellen Show/Sandy BarCoastal Garden Shed and Building, New York

To continue the beach-inspired theme found in the main house, we turned a surfboard into a bar, added a pop of color on the wall, and finished the space off with some fun lights and a few nautical touches.

Dive in to the blueThere’s something about a certain bold shade of turquoise blue that brings to mind glittering oceans and everlasting sunshine. Here it helps this upgraded garden shed follow a beach-shack theme, with a surfboard used as bar-top for serving ice-cold colas and pina coladas. Experiment with using similar jewel shades of blue on doors and walls, or with accessories, indoors or outside.

Surfboard barIf you have an old surfboard lying around or spy one at a bargain price, consider transforming it into a one-of-a-kind outdoor bar. Attach it to a basic table, and top it with summer bar essentials before your next party.
