The image showcases a chic and contemporary bathroom vanity area with a focus on clean lines and monochromatic tones. The vanity cabinet features a textured front with vertical grooves, painted in a crisp white that contrasts with the sleek black handles and faucet. This combination of black and white creates a bold, graphic look that is both modern and timeless.
Above the vanity, a round mirror with a thin black frame reflects the clean aesthetic of the space, complementing the other black accents. The wall behind the vanity is partially tiled with white subway tiles, adding a classic bathroom touch that meshes well with the contemporary features.
A two-bulb wall sconce is mounted above the mirror, providing ample lighting with a minimalist design that doesn't detract from the overall simplicity of the decor. To the right, a towel ring holds a white towel, continuing the black and white theme.
This bathroom design is an excellent example of how minimalist design can be warm and inviting while still maintaining a sleek and polished look. The careful balance of textures, colors, and lighting creates an elegant space that is functional and stylish.

Quiet luxury was the focus in this hotel-style bathroom in Hackney, London, with close attention paid to the finer details. Natural wood, tiles, surfaces, and sheer fabric curtains in earthy, light tones added organic texture and layering for a calm, serene feel.
The Parker Howley & Co double fluted-wood vanity unit gives plenty of storage, with a pair of sinks and twin shelved mirrors to keep favourite products close to hand. It has a Caeserstone worktop that won’t mark or stain, and Dyke and Dean wall lights surround it to ensure the space is well-lit with a flattering, soft glow.
Matt and gloss Grestec tiles are combined on the walls in a non-uniform way to create a beautiful effect when daylight hits them.
The sheer curtains create a textured backdrop for the bath, softening the daylight and making the room feel more luxurious. I specified a floor-mounted bath filler (rather than a standard wall-mounted tap) to allow the bath to be a centrepiece with space around it.
The spacious room meant a wall could be constructed to create a walk-in shower for a spa-like feel. Tiled niches are on both sides, so the clients can tuck away and conveniently store their everyday toiletries. The shower controls are located at the entrance, allowing the shower to be turned on and adjusted to the right power and temperature before entering.

Victorian Style Bathroom in Horsham, West Sussex
In the peaceful village of Warnham, West Sussex, bathroom designer George Harvey has created a fantastic Victorian style bathroom space, playing homage to this characterful house.
Making the most of present-day, Victorian Style bathroom furnishings was the brief for this project, with this client opting to maintain the theme of the house throughout this bathroom space. The design of this project is minimal with white and black used throughout to build on this theme, with present day technologies and innovation used to give the client a well-functioning bathroom space.
To create this space designer George has used bathroom suppliers Burlington and Crosswater, with traditional options from each utilised to bring the classic black and white contrast desired by the client. In an additional modern twist, a HiB illuminating mirror has been included – incorporating a present-day innovation into this timeless bathroom space.
Bathroom Accessories
One of the key design elements of this project is the contrast between black and white and balancing this delicately throughout the bathroom space. With the client not opting for any bathroom furniture space, George has done well to incorporate traditional Victorian accessories across the room. Repositioned and refitted by our installation team, this client has re-used their own bath for this space as it not only suits this space to a tee but fits perfectly as a focal centrepiece to this bathroom.
A generously sized Crosswater Clear6 shower enclosure has been fitted in the corner of this bathroom, with a sliding door mechanism used for access and Crosswater’s Matt Black frame option utilised in a contemporary Victorian twist. Distinctive Burlington ceramics have been used in the form of pedestal sink and close coupled W/C, bringing a traditional element to these essential bathroom pieces.
Bathroom Features
Traditional Burlington Brassware features everywhere in this bathroom, either in the form of the Walnut finished Kensington range or Chrome and Black Trent brassware. Walnut pillar taps, bath filler and handset bring warmth to the space with Chrome and Black shower valve and handset contributing to the Victorian feel of this space. Above the basin area sits a modern HiB Solstice mirror with integrated demisting technology, ambient lighting and customisable illumination. This HiB mirror also nicely balances a modern inclusion with the traditional space through the selection of a Matt Black finish.
Along with the bathroom fitting, plumbing and electrics, our installation team also undertook a full tiling of this bathroom space. Gloss White wall tiles have been used as a base for Victorian features while the floor makes decorative use of Black and White Petal patterned tiling with an in keeping black border tile. As part of the installation our team have also concealed all pipework for a minimal feel.
Our Bathroom Design & Installation Service
With any bathroom redesign several trades are needed to ensure a great finish across every element of your space. Our installation team has undertaken a full bathroom fitting, electrics, plumbing and tiling work across this project with our project management team organising the entire works. Not only is this bathroom a great installation, designer George has created a fantastic space that is tailored and well-suited to this Victorian Warnham home.

Extension and refurbishment of a semi-detached house in Hern Hill.
Extensions are modern using modern materials whilst being respectful to the original house and surrounding fabric.
Views to the treetops beyond draw occupants from the entrance, through the house and down to the double height kitchen at garden level.
From the playroom window seat on the upper level, children (and adults) can climb onto a play-net suspended over the dining table.
The mezzanine library structure hangs from the roof apex with steel structure exposed, a place to relax or work with garden views and light. More on this - the built-in library joinery becomes part of the architecture as a storage wall and transforms into a gorgeous place to work looking out to the trees. There is also a sofa under large skylights to chill and read.
The kitchen and dining space has a Z-shaped double height space running through it with a full height pantry storage wall, large window seat and exposed brickwork running from inside to outside. The windows have slim frames and also stack fully for a fully indoor outdoor feel.
A holistic retrofit of the house provides a full thermal upgrade and passive stack ventilation throughout. The floor area of the house was doubled from 115m2 to 230m2 as part of the full house refurbishment and extension project.

To ensure this home would perfectly suit the client's needs and lifestyle, builder James from The Melbourne Chippy brought us in to redesign the spaces. As well as a big refresh, we made a couple of structural changes including removing the wall separating the lounge from the dining and kitchen. This allowed us to create a lightly larger kitchen and improved the flow between all spaces. Whilst the Kitchen was almost the same layout as before, it became so much more practical and functional through the use of mechanisms and clever storage. To suit the client's needs, the Laundry also became more of a walk in pantry with a small but functional European Laundry instead.
These spaces underwent a huge visual transformation as well, as the dated white kitchen and laundry were brought to life through texture and character. The joinery is a combination of 2pac joinery with Polytec Sussex profile and Polytec Plantation Ash timber-look melamine. The natural stone benchtop and square sage green tiles tied the look together, bringing in a bit of a coastal aesthetic.
These finishes and colour scheme were carried through the home into the bathroom, ensuite and powder room as well. The previous small walk in robe and ensuite were combined to create one large luxurious ensuite, with a large shower, double vanity and new skylight. A new built-in-robe was then designed for the bedroom to suit the client's needs. The bathroom layout remained as existing, but the new finishes, ledge and back-to-wall bath completely transformed the space. The existing WC was also made more practical, by adding in a basin to create a Powder Room instead.

Our main bathroom at our #NewSpacesxMonash project is simple in design, but packs a punch on functionality and space.
Storage to service three kids as they grow was imperative, so the bathroom features a massive 1800mm custom vanity by @topshelf joinery including tall cabinet.
A ‘wet-area’ design encompasses both the back-to-wall bath and shower space, with a hand-held shower positioned between for ease of cleaning, especially for the kids in the bath on hair washing night! This open shower design also means less shower screens to keep clean
