Keep the master bedroom timelessThe brief for the master bedroom was ‘light, airy and timeless’, and this elegant room is a masterclass in restrained style. A simply painted white fireplace creates a period feel, even though it’s a modern addition, while sisal flooring, soft grey walls and a dusty rose bedspread are quietly stylish. The sash windows are modern, double-glazed models that mirror the style of the original windows. If your property has existing sash windows, there are a number of options to bring these up to date. Depending on the condition of the windows and your budget constraints, you could have them refurbished, replace them with new models or have secondary glazing panels added. Talk to a professional to discover what would be the best option for your property.
The brief for the master bedroom was “light, airy and timeless”.The fire surround may look old, but it’s actually new, and simply painted white.
